Using Blogs...

I have used individual Blogs with my students this year for more transparency. It does work but there is a bunch of setup stuff you have to make sure you do.

Make sure comment moderation is on
Make sure you get rid of Tool bar across their blogs
Make sure kids know how to post pics, vids, and content (so not boring)
Make them actually tell WHAT they did... not "WE Blogged" or "Mr. Kelley talked"

* As year goes by I am going to have their Parents comment and get more interaction with the kids blogs.

Just got a new 3d printer for my program

Eight graders will print their Sketchup Prototype Models using a 2bot 3d Printer.

It uses Software to take model and...
It uses simple foam material to carve 3d object

The Transparent Classroom through Reverse Teaching

Learn how to flip the script and teach backwards, where students teach the class by using hands on projects and classroom management tools. See in action how to put yourself at the “back” of the class while your students take the main stage. Rather than being the “sage on the stage”, empower your students to become the keeper of the knowledge keys.

We will learn how to put students front and center by participating in a hands on environment building cars, skateboards, robots and prototypes. We will accomplish this while all the time maintaining a Transparent Classroom where parents, principals and pupils can “see” their work online anytime and anywhere.
